HAWKEYE - Funeral services for Ruth Ernestine Fritz will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 21, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hawkeye, with the Rev. Troy Pflibsen Officiating. Burial will be in the Hawkeye Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Hawkeye. There will also be visitation from noon to service time Wednesday at the church.
Mrs. Fritz, 94, died Monday morning, Jan. 19, 1998, at Hillcrest home, Sumner, after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 8, 1903, at Sumner, the daughter of Ernest and Martha Dohlman Potratz. She graduated from Sumner High School in 1922. In November 1922, she married John Fritz in Waterloo. The couple lived in Hawkeye. Mr. Fritz died in 1958. Mrs. Fritz had been a resident at Hillcrest since 1991. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include one son, Martin (Evalyn) of Ackley; two grandchildren, Diane (Paul) Ringenberg of Bettendorf, and Paul Fritz of Nigeria, Africa; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; one son, Paul: seven sisters; and one brother.
