HAWKEYE - Funeral services for Lavern Ross Pleggenkuhle will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hawkeye, with the Rev. Troy Pflibsen officiating. Burial will be in the Hawkeye Cemetery. Friends my call from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Hawkeye, and one hour before services at the church Tuesday.
Mr. Pleggenkule, 54, died Saturday evening, Oct. 11, 1997 at Palmer Health Center, West Union, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 13, 1942, in rural Chickasaw County, the son of Ross and Esther Bergmann Pleggenkuhle. He graduated from North Fayette High School in 1951 and received a B.A. from Wartburg College, Waverly in 1965. He later earned a masters degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Mr. Pleggenkuhle had taught business education in West Allis, Wis. schools since 1970. He was a member of various professional associations including the National Education Association and W.S.E.A. Due to ill health he had lived with his parents near Hawkeye since May of this year.
Survivors include his parents, Ross and Esther Pleggenkuhle; one brother, Larry (Marcia) of St. Ansgar; one sister, Bev (Dave) Malausky of Manchester; three nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; William and Emma Pleggenkuhle, Ernest Bergmann and Herman and Hilda Hay.
