Rites Held For Arthur Wolfs

Funeral services for Arthur Wolfs were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 1978 at the Stavanger Lutheran Church, rural Ossian. The Rev. Duane Manson officiated.

Arthur Wolfs, son of Henry and Lena Larson Wolfs, was born February 15, 1916, in Dover Township, near West Union. He died January 7, 1978 at Palmer Memorial Hospital, West Union.

He was baptized March 14, 1916 and confirmed September 28, 1930 at the Stavanger Lutheran Church at Ossian. His education was received at the Dover School in Dover Township.

September 12, 1942 he was married to Ruth Nagel at Hattisburg, Mississippi. To this union four children were born. They farmed in Fayette County all their life.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Diana.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a son, Gary, at home; two daughters: Janice Wolfs, Waterloo; and Mrs. Mark (Gloria) Elsberend, Calmar; two brothers: Joseph, West Union, and Earl, Elgin; and two sisters: Mrs. Inga Evenson, Clermont and Anna Wolfs, West Union.

Arthur served in the U. S. Army during WW II in France, Germany and Italy.

Burial was in the Stavanger Cemetery. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
