Palma Walls

Services for Palma Walls, who died Nov. 10 were held Nov. 14 at the East Clermont Lutheran Church with burial at the church cemetery. Rev. Kim Thacker and Rev. E. R. Sims conducted the services. A solo was sung by Arthur Amundson and Lois Dummermuth was the organist. Pallbearers were: Wayne Amundson, Roger Amundson, Arthur Helgerson, James Helgerson, Karl Klemp and Quinton Olson.

Palma was born Nov. 9, 1901 to Nels T. and Julia (Gilbertson) Helgerson, on a farm near Clermont. She was baptized and confirmed in the East Clermont Lutheran Church.

She married Robert Gustafson. They had a son Paul Gustafson. Robert died in November of 1952. Palma then married Reginald Walls in 1956. She then joined the Episcopalian Faith and later became a member of the Episcopal Church of Our Savior in Clermont. Reginald died in August of 1979.

She is survived by a son, Paul Gustafson of Fort Washington, MD, 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mable Amundson of Postville.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Robert and Reginald, 6 half-brothers and a brother, Harry Helgerson.
