Charles G Reuber, 71, whose home had been at 811 N. Frederick, dies st the home of his daughter, Mrs Carl Tempus, Walker, Monday morning at 7:30. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Zion Luthern church here with the Rev H. E. Deiter in charge. The body will lie in state at Hintz funeral home. Born in Germany, he came to this country when a boy. The family lived in Wisconsin for about a year, moving to Iowa where he has lived 61 years. His home has been in Oelwein for five years, and one of his last acts was to make his home available to a family desperately in need of housing. It was while moving furniture out that he became ill, and he has been at the farm home of his daughter's near Walker for the past two weeks. His wife passed away in July 1947. Charles Rueber was born March 2, 1878, the son of John Rueber and Christine Rueber. He had spent most of his life farming. Surviving him besides his daughter, Mrs Carl Tempus (Ester), Walker, are three sons, Robert Rueber, Westgate; Carl Rueber, Oelwein; Arnold Rueber, Arlington; as well as four brothers and one sister. Funeral is in charge of Hintz funeral home. Burial will be in Oakdale cemetary here.
