Robert John Rueber, farmer, 51, died at his home in Stanfield Thursday noon of heart disease. He was the son of John Rueber and his wife Christiana (nee Schwarz) and was born in Germany February 9, 1881. At the age of two years he emigrated with his parents to America and settled at Albany Wis. Two years later the family moved to Maynard, Iowa, where he received his education and grew to manhood. In 1908 Mr Rueber decided to come west, where he engaged in farming. For the last ten years he has lived at Stanfield. For several years he held the office of director of irrigation. Mr. Rueber had been in failing health for some time, but his death was nevertheless sudden. He leaves to mourn his departure seven brothers and one sister. The brothers are Rev August Rueber of Mapleton Ia; Charles and Gus of Maynard Ia; Martin of Portland Ore; and John, Jacob and Albert of Stanfield. The sister is Mrs Julia Bender of Chicago Ill. Besides these he leaves many other relatives and a host of friends both in Stanfield and in Iowa. The departed was a life-long member of the Luthern church and at his death was a faithful member at Pendelton. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Peace Luthern church, the Rev E. M. Butenshon officiating. Burial will be in Olney Cemetery. The body is at the Bomboy Funeral Home.
