ELGIN - Funeral services for Ralph Houg will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Bethel Presbyterian Church in West Union, with burial in the West Union Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at Burnham-Wood Funeral Home, West Union.
Mr. Houg, 72, died Tuesday night, Dec. 30, 1997, at the Good Samaritan Home, Postville, after a long illness.
He was born Feb. 23, 1925, in West Union, the son of Clarence and Merle Klingman Houg. He lived his entire life on the family farm near Elgin.
Survivors include two aunts, Florence Klingman of West Union, and Edna Klingman of Elgin; two sisters-in-law, Garnet Houg and Madlyn Houg both of West Union; and his housekeeper for 58 years, Blanche Hendren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Paul and Ronald Houg.
