MAYNARD - Funeral services for Ivanell Florence Berry of 1077 Cornell Drive, Carrollton, Texas, and formerly of Maynard, were held Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Maynard, with the Rev. Bruce Bane officiating. Burial was in Long Grove Cemetery, Maynard. The Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Maynard, was in charge of arrangements, where visitation was held Monday. Mrs. Berry, 76, died Saturday morning, Aug. 30, 1997, at R.H.D. Memorial Medical Center, Dallas,
Texas, after a long illness.
She was born Jan. 9, 1921, in Strawberry Point, the daughter of Edward J. and Bessie L. (Kuehl) Wenzel. She graduated from Strawberry Point High School in 1938 and was a rural schoolteacher for five years in Clayton County. On Jan. 24, 1943, she married Gerald William Berry at Elkport. Mrs. Berry was a Maynard resident from 1954 until moving to Texas in 1995. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of Maynard.
Survivors include one daughter, Gerri (Robert) Fulkerson of Carrollton; two sons, Dennis of Dallas, and Bruce (Sara) of Houston; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Marvin Wenzel of Houston.
She was preceded by her parents; her husband, Gerald, April 7, 1995; and a brother, Raymond Wenzel.
Memorials may be made in her name to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Maynard, and the American Cancer Society.
