OELWEIN - Funeral services for Shirley Luckeroth will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Frederick C. Fangmann officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein. Friends may call from 2 until 9 p.m., Tuesday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, where there will be a parish scripture service at 7 p.m. Mrs. Luckeroth, 70, died Sunday morning, Nov. 10,1996, at her home after a short illness.
She was born March 24, 1926, in Oelwein, the daughter of Edward and Arlie Rae (Hazlet) Tennant. On June 5, 1950, she married Gerald Luckeroth in Oelwein. Mrs. Luckeroth was hostess at the Oelwein City Park campground for seven years, had owned, and operated Shirley’s Yam Shop in Oelwein. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Rosary Society.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald; two daughters, Susan (Ronald) Mausser and Ann (David) Schmidt, both of Oelwein; two sons, Ronald (Jeaneane) Luckeroth and Chris Luckeroth, both of Oelwein; five grandchildren; one sister, Sarah Berger of Oelwein; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Corrine E. Stewart and Laura Platt; and three brothers, George, Rex and Roger Tennant.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
