OELWEIN - Funeral services for Robert Virgil Clark will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, with the Rev. Robert Dagit officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 until 4 p.m. Wednesday, and after 12:30 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
Mr. Clark, 83, died Monday evenng, Nov. 10, 1997, at Grandview HealthCare Center, after a lengthy illness.
He was born Aug. 10, 1914, in Scott, the son of Robert and Ada (Lennon) Clark. He married Evelyn Grace Dickey on July 30, 1935, at Independence. Mr. Clark was along time Oelwein resident, working as a heavy equipment operator for many years. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local #234 of Cedar Rapids. He had been a resident of Grandview HealthCare Center the past six years.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; two sons, Robert (Carol) of Waterloo, and Jerry (Kay) of Flagstaff, Ariz.; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Smith of Oelwein and Viola Oakley of Fayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Gene, Hazzel, Donald and Richard; and one sister, Gladys.
