FAYETTE - Memorial services for Larry James Langerman will be 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 27, at First United Methodist Church in Fayette, with the Rev. Thomas Biatek officiating. Private family inurnment will be at Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m., today (Thursday) at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Fayette, and from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Langerman, 59, died at his Fayette home Wednesday, Sept. 25, 1996, after a short illness.
He was born Nov. 30, 1936, on the family farm east of Fayette, the son of Joseph and Orpha (Page) Langerman. He graduated from Fayette High School in 1955. On March 4, 1955, he married Sandra Thomas in Independence. Mr. Langerman worked as a mechanic and construction worker for Pattison Brothers in Fayette for 14 years. He was a member of the Volga Valley Conservation Club and was very active in scouting. He was a former scoutmaster for Troop 28 in Waterloo, and had the honor of helping three young men attain the rank of Eagle Scout.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy of Fayette; two sons, Terry of Alpha and Duane of Fayette; three daughters, Cheryl Olson of Eldorado, Brenda Cue of Fayette, and LaRue Brereton of Hatton, N.D.; 16 grand-children; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Lowell of Fayette, Arthur of McConnellsville, Ohio, and Philip of Fayette; and three sisters, Lois Samek of Fayette, Judy Gruetzmacher of Oelwein, and JoEllen Langerman of Preston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Anthony in 1962; and one brother, Willard in 1992.
