FAYETTE - Funeral services for Elizabeth Delzie Turner, formerly of Ottumwa, were held Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the Reece Funeral Home, Ottumwa, with the Rev. Lon Lewis of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Chariton Cemetery, Chariton. Mrs. Turner, 102, died early Saturday morning, Jan. 3, 1998, at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette.
She was born Feb. 6, 1895, in Albia, the daughter of James and Sarah Gross Burtchby. She attended Albia High School and Austin Community College. She moved to Ottumwa in 1945 and was a drapery seamstress for Kiple & DePrenger Furniture, retiring in 1959. She was a 50-year member of the First United Methodist Church, Ottumwa.
Survivors include one daughter, Pat Custer of Randalia; two grand-children; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louise Bloom of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Hazel J. Buftchby.
Memorials may be made in her name to Maple Crest Manor, Fayette.
