FAYETTE - Funeral services for Gladys Evelyn Timmerman will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Fayette, with the Rev. Dale Rausch officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Fayette. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Becker-Milnes-Funeral Home in Fayette, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7:30 p.m. scripture service.
Mrs. Timmerman, 85, died Sunday morning, July 20, 1997, at Palmer Lutheran Health Center, West Union, following a brief illness.
She was born June 9, 1912, in Wadena, the daughter of Bert and Margaret Fennell Timmerman. She attended rural school in the Wadena area. On Jan. 1, 1931, she married Lawrence Archie Timmerman in Fayette. The couple farmed in the Oran area before moving to Fayette in 1955. Mrs. Timmerman had also worked at Lucy's Garden of Eating in Fayette. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Survivors include five children, Richard L.(Bonnie) of Fayette, Lois M.(William) Geary of Marengo, Donald E.(Dayna) of Denver, Ronald E.(Velda) of Cedar Falls, and James H.(Janet) of Britt; one brother, Francis E. Timmerman of Cedar Rapids; three sisters, Betty Greif of Hopkinton, Joyce Schultz of Farmersburg, and Helen Gienapp of Center Point.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence in November 1982; three sisters, Velma Gienapp, Alberta Erhardt, and Dorothy, in infancy; and four brothers, Leo, Gerald "Rusty", Harley and Paul Timmerman.
