LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Matilda “Tillie” (Roth) Hammond, 83, of Lakewood, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006 at her home following a long illness.

Services were held at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Denver, with interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver.

Matilda Roth was born March 11, 1923, in Topeka, Kan., the daughter of Jacob and Anna Roth. She married Jim Hammond in Oelwein (died March 2003).

Survivors: four daughters, Debbie, Nancy, Patti and Bonnie; one son, Dennis; six grandchildren and one great-grandson; three sisters, Anne Coselman and Dorothy Gloede of Oelwein and Marie Kirby of Des Moines, and several nieces and nephews in the Oelwein and Independence areas.
