Marie Reierson
ELGIN - Funeral services for Marie Reierson of Postville, formerly of Elgin, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct 21, at East Clermont Lutheran Church, rural Clermont, with the Rev. Paul Birkedal officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at Schutte's Clermont Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Reierson, 93, died Friday morning, Oct. 17, 1997, at the Good Samaritan Center, Postville, after a lengthy illness.
She was born June 29, 1904, near Elgin, the daughter of Louis and Louisa (Schneider) Martie. She married Ole Reierson on Sept 14, 1927, at Nashua.
Survivors include four sons, Glen (Shirley) and Donald, both of Elgin, Clarence (Mavis) of Walker, and Robert (Mary) of Postville; two daughters, Lydia Molokken of Clermont, and Darlene Abel of Belle, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Celia Wander of West Union, and Lydia (Elmer) Butikofer of Postville; and a step-daughter-in-law, Marian Reierson of Postville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ole in 1973; one brother, Fred Martie; two sons-in-law, Levi Molokken and Cecil Abel; two stepsons, Alphie and Orvin Reierson; two stepdaughters, Gladys Bruckner and Bernice Vick; a granddaughter, Cindy Abel; and two step-granddaughters, Mary Jane Brockner and Mary Jane Vick Brandt.
