OELWEIN - Funeral services for Charlotte Frances Biver will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Frederick Fangmann officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein. Friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the, Hintz-Geilenfeld Funeral Home, Oelwein, where there will be a parish rosary at 7 p.m. Mrs. Biver, 89, died Friday, Feb. 20, 1998, at Grandview HealthCare Center, Oelwein, after a sudden illness.
She was born May 18, 1908, in Dubuque, the daughter of Domenick and Margaret (Grommesch) Welu. She married George Biver on Oct. 24, 1931, in Dubuque. Mrs. Biver was a homemaker and member of Sacred Heart and its rosary society.
Survivors include two sons, Tom (Pat) of Oelwein, and Davie (Marie) of Falls Church, ,Va.; two daughters, Janet (Art) Orlowski of Oelwein, and Sue (James) Aubrey of Waverly; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Agnes Splitt of La Moure, N.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George (Oct. 29, 1981); two sisters, Sue and Hilda; and two brothers, Joseph and Arnold.
