OELWEIN - Funeral services for Germaine Ford will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Frederick Fangmann officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein. Friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hintz-Geilenfeld Funeral Home, Oelwein, where there will be a CDA rosary at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Ford, 65, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, in Mesa, Ariz., after a sudden illness.
She was born May 15, 1932, near Delhi, the daughter of Thomas and Frances (Oehler) Doyle. She graduated from Coggon High School in 1949. On Jan. 12, 1952, she married Paul Ford at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein. Mrs. Ford was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart, its rosary society and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas St. Rita Court 321.
Survivors include her husband, Paul; two sons, Gary (Sharon) of Waverly, and Alan (Ila) of Ferryville, Wis.; two daughters, Carol (Shawn) O'Hara of Elk River, Minn., and Diane (Steve) Michael of West Union; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Patricia (Robert) Bretz of Coggon; and one brother, Thomas (Marlene) Doyle Jr., of Hazleton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, James; and one sister, Denise Singer.
A memorial fund has been established.
