OELWEIN -Funeral services for Mary Jane M. Frank will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Frederick C. Fangmann officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein. Friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, where there will be a parish scripture service at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Frank, 75, died Monday morning, Sept. 1, 1997, at Mercy Hospital of Franciscan Sisters, Oelwein, after a long illness.
She was born Feb. 13, 1922 in Milwaukee, Wis., the daughter of Edgar Raymond and Alma Wilhelmina (Borgkenhagen) Douglas. She graduated from West Allis High School in West Allis, Wis. On July 3, 1951, she married Willard John Frank at Waukegan, Ill. Mrs. Frank had previously worked in the Milwaukee area as a bookkeeper at St. Joseph Hospital, an administrative assistant for Bob Lamberton Industrial Tech and as an office manager for Dwyer Realty before retiring in 1976. She moved to Oelwein in 1978. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Rosary Society, past treasurer for the American Legion Auxiliary, past president of the Eagles Auxiliary and past Womens Relief Corps member. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed cards and bingo.
Survivors include one son, Douglas (Debra) of Oelwein, two daughters, Mary Bridget Frank and Mary Margaret "Maggie" (Clark W.) Moser, both of Oelwein; four grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willard, Oct. 18, 1981; one granddaughter, Kirstie Moser; and a sister, Virginia Mueller.
A memorial fund has been established.
