OELWEIN - Funeral services for Emma E. Clark will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 22, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Frederick Fangmann officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the Hintz-Geilenfeld Funeral Home, where there will be a scripture service at 6:30 p.m.
Mrs. Clark, 79, died Thursday, June 18, 1998, at Grandview HealthCare Center, Oelwein, after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 31, 1918, in Fairbank, the daughter of Leo and Clara A. (Vargason) Heid. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Oelwein. She married Eugene Clark in June 1936; Mrs. Clark was a homemaker and had worked at DeKalb and OCCO in previous years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Rosary Society, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and the V.FW. Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, Christopher of Oelwein; one daughter, Shirley (James) Schreck of Monmouth, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Leah Stolfus of Oelwein, and Gwendlyn Adams of Vinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene, Jan. 1968; one daughter, Bernita Auer, May 1988; a brother, Leo Heid; and three sisters, Mae Smith, Alice Russell and Dorothy Reisner.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
