Mary M. "Marge" Rees
OELWEIN - Mary Margaret "Marge" Rees, 70, died at her home Tuesday morning, June 2, 1998, after a lengthy illness. A memorial mass will be held at a later date, with Inurnment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein.
She was born May 1, 1928, at Oelwein, the daughter of Ernest Christian and Philomena Mary (King) Hulse. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1946. On April 6, 1947, she married Harold William "Red" Rees at Oelwein. A homemaker and lifelong Oelwein resident, Mrs. Rees was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Rosary Society. She had been an organist and eucharistic minister at Sacred Heart. She also wrote a column "Crafting with Marge" for the Oelwein Daily Register for several years.
Survivors include her husband, Harold W. "Red"; four daughters, Donna Rees of Hazleton, Mary (Skip) Reisner of Oelwein, Rebecca Baker of Terrell, Texas, and Kathleen (Kenneth) Woodward of Wylie, Texas;one-son, Daniel of Waterford, Wis.; seven grandchildren; one brother, Richard Hulse of Moreno Valley, Calif.; and two sisters, Helen (Ed) Krueger of Dubuque,and Donna (John) Walenceus of Auburn,Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
