James L. Roling
DUBUQUE - James Louis Roling, Jr., 47, of 115 West 11th Street Dubuque, and formerly of Oelwein, died at his home Friday morning, Sept. 12, 1997, after a sudden illness. Friends may call from 3 until 9p.m. Monday, Sept.15, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein. There will be no funeral service. Memorials may be given to the charity of donor's choice.
He was born Dec. 24, 1949, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Dr. James and Marjorie (Jacob) Roling. He and his parents moved to Oelwein from Chicago when he was nine months old. He graduated from Oelwein High School in 1968, and from Winona State University, Winona, Minn., in 1973. Mr. Roling had the nickname 'Harry' and owned Uncle Harry's Restaurant and Catering service in Dubuque.
Survivors include his parents, Dr. James and Marjorie Roling, 113 Hillside Drive East, Oelwein; one sister, Colleen (David) Brownworth of Carmel, Ind.; one niece and one nephew.
