FAIRBANK - Laura M. Lowe, 82, of Fairbank, and formerly of Oelwein, died suddenly Sunday morning, Feb.4, 2007 at her home in Fairbank.
Funeral services will, be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Grace United Methodist Church in Oelwein, with the Rev. Darwin Moore officiating. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens south of Oelwein. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, 221 N. Frederick, Oelwein and after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the church. Memorials may be given in her name for Grace United Methodist Church in Oelwein.
Laura is survived by her son Dale (wife Barb) Lowe of Fairbank; two daughters, Sandra (husband Gilbert) Pitt of Arroya Grande, Calif. and Annette (husband Mark) McNab of Anchorage, Alaska; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benjamin F. Lowe, Aug. 25, 1986; and a sister, Helen Virginia Jensen.
Laura Maxine Jensen was born May 1, 1924 at Oelwein, the daughter of Max and Cecile (Howe) Jensen. She graduated from Oelwein High School in 1942. Laura married Benjamin Franklin Lowe on July 25, 1944 at Oelwein. She was a homemaker, a member of Grace United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and a member of TOPS. Laura was a lifelong Oelwein resident until moving to Fairbank in 1989.
