SUMNER - Funeral services for Donna Cornelia Johnson will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the United Methodist Church, Randalia, with the Rev. Bruce Bane officiating. Burial will be in Dunham Grove Cemetery, Randalia. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Sumner, and one hour before services at the church Tuesday.
Mrs. Johnson, 104, died Wednesday evening, Sept. 17, 1997, at Hillcrest Home in Sumner.
She was born March 24, 1893, in Fayette County, the daughter of Giniver and Carrie May Fox Fordyce. She attended Randalia school. She married Forrest Johnson in Mason City. He died in 1943. Mrs. Johnson worked as a depot agent for many years in Randalia. She lived briefly in California, Oelwein, and most recently, in Sumner. For the past 18 months she had been a resident of Hillcrest Home. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Randalia, a 75-year member of Rebekah Lodge and a member of the Relief Corps.
Survivors include one son, William (Barbara) of Cypress Calif.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Fordyce of Sumner; one sister, Gladys Winter, also of Sumner; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forrest; two brothers; and four sisters.
