STANLEY - Funeral services for Anne Margaret Vande Vorde will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hazleton, with the Rev. Dennis Juhl officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, where there will be a C.D.A. rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish scripture service at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Vande Vorde, 80, died Monday afternoon, Dec. 29, 1997, at Mercy Hospital of Franciscan Sisters, Oelwein, after a lingering illness.
She was born Nov. 17, 1917, at Topeka, Kan., the daughter of Jacob and Anna E.(Erbin) Schulmeister. She attended Sacred Heart High School. On Feb.1, 1936, she married Lanes Edward Vande Vorde at
Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein. Mrs. Vande Vorde was a homemaker and farmed with her husband for more than 60 years near Stanley. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Study Club where she was past officer, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Rita 321, taught CCD classes at St. Mary's and was a former member of the Aurora Garden Club.
Survivors include her husband, Lanes of Stanley; one daughter, Julie (David) Oberbroeckling of Davenport; four sons, Richard (Cheryl) of Paradise, Texas, Robert (Anita) of Adel, Gerald (Barbara) of Hazleton, and George (Lisa) of Aurora; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Don) Maurer of Tampa, Fla., Marge (Warren) Inman of Denver, Katherine Julie (Florian) Koch of Oelwein; two brothers, John (Barbara) Schulmeister and George (Jeannie) Schulmeister, both of Oelwein.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Peter, Jacob, Joseph, and one in infancy; and two sisters, Barbara Hefner and one in infancy.
