OELWEIN - Funeral services for Maxine L. DeTimmerman will be 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Frederick Fangmann officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.
Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. today at the Hintz-Geilenfeld Funeral Home, Oelwein, where there will be a VFW Auxiliary service at 6 p.m. and a parish rosary at 7 p.m.
Mrs. DeTimmerman, 89, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, at Kavanaugh House, West Des Moines, after a short illness.
She was born Dec. 16, 1908 the daughter of John and Nellie Walker. She married George L. DeTimmerman on June 11, 1928, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein. Mrs. DeTimmerman was a homemaker and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, John of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Charles of Cabot, Ark., and Patrick of Adel; two daughters, Elaine (Fred) Goldsberry of Waterloo, and Mary (Michael) Crahan of Des Moines; one sister, Verneita (Raymond) Eggert of Oelwein; and 54 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents; her husband, George in 1972; and two sons, Robert and Michael, preceded her in death.
A memorial fund has been established.
