Maureen 'Rene ' Johnson
WEST UNION-- Memorial services for Maureen "Rene" K. Johnson will be 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Zion Lutheran Church, West Union.
Mrs. Johnson, 59, died at her home Monday, Sept. 29, 1997, in West Union from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
She was born July 30, 1938 in Fayette, the daughter of Arnold and Frances (Perry) Heth. She graduated from Fayette High School and Upper Iowa University at Fayette. She was married to Robert Johnson for 36 years and later divorced. Mrs. Johnson was a kindergarten teacher in West Union for many years.
Survivors include three children, Brent (Cindy) of Burnsville, Minn., Brad of West Union, and Jana (Keith) Rowley of Center Junction; six grandchildren; her mother, Frances Heth of Fayette; one sister, Donna (Bob) Milts of Medford, Ore.; one brother, Dennis (Sharon) Heth of Fort Madison; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial scholarship fund has been established in her name. Burnham-Wood Funeral Home, West Union, was in charge of arrangements.
