ELGIN - Funeral services for Myrtle Ruth Butikofer will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30,at Elgin Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kathleen Soldwisch officiating. Burial will be in the Elgin Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Leonard Funeral Home, Elgin, and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Mrs. Butikofer, 88, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 27, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Center, Postville, following a long Illness.
She was born Dec. 27, 1909, near Elgin, the daughter of Olavus and Belle (Stave) Knudtson. She married Fred Butikofer and the couple made their home in Elgin. He died Nov. 13, 1991. She was a member of Elgin Lutheran Church.
Survivors include one son, Francis, and one daughter, Ramona Moore, both of Elgin; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Selma Landsgard of St. Olaf; and one brother, Elmer Knudtson of Guttenberg.
