Norma Wilson, 90, Elgin

Norma Elaine Wilson, 90, Elgin, died Tuesday, Dec. 5 at Northgate Care Center, Waukon, following a brief illness. Funeral service was Dec. 9 at the Leonard Funeral Home, Elgin, with Rev. Arleon Kelley officiating. Burial was in the Elgin Cemetery.

Norma was born Nov. 30, 1916, in Elgin, to Paul Carlton and Mary Elizabeth (Boyle) Doan. She graduated from Waukegan High School, Waukegan, Ill.

On Nov. 25, 1937, she married Clifton Wilson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Three children were born to this union. Norma was a homemaker and librarian at the Elgin Library for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, knitting and taking bus trips. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include two children, Patricia Jean (Gene) Klinge of Harpers Ferry and Michael Dean Wilson of Edmond, Okla.; six grandchildren, Kathy, Vicki, Kevin, Dawn, Karen, Bryan; nine great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret Houghton of Hayward, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifton, on March 15, 1977; one son, David Clifton Wilson in infancy; and one daughter-in-law, Eleanor Wilson.
