Florence Irma Goff Capper died Thursday, August 2, 2001, at Palmer Lutheran Health Center in West Union. The cremated remains will be interred in Ohio at a later date.

A Celebration of Life Service was held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Elgin at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, August 5. Friends and family joined in a meal and sharing of memories following the service in the church basement.

Florence was born June 10, 1910, to John and Anna Shearer Goff. She married David Norris Capper December 28, 1927. They moved to Elgin in 1930.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years; daughter-in-law, June Capper, Lansing; son Dr. Stanley (Gail) Capper of Wichita, Kans.; daughter Patricia (Tracy) Anderson of Kalona. Florence had 14 grandchildren and 21
great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons: James Leland in
1970 and Herman Lloyd in 1990.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Methodist Church of Elgin or Hospice of Palmer Lutheran Health Center in West Union.

Arrangements were by Leonard Funeral Home, Elgin.
