Florina Bathia Crandall was born in Chatauqua Co.,
N.Y. July 17, 1828 and departed this earthly life
at her home in Maynard, Iowa, June 29, 1903.
She was united in marriage with George Watenpaugh
December 22, 1847, with whom she has shared the
joys and sorrows of lifefor more than 55 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Watenpaugh came to live in Iowa, and with the exception of three years spent in Bremer
County have lived in Fayette County ever since.
Eight children were born to them, four boys and
four girls. Delos, living in California, Orlando,
Mrs Ellen Beckner, John, Eva, Olve, and Delia
Donat all living in or near Maynard, and William,
who died about two years ago.
Mrs. Watenpaugh joined the M.E. Church in 1841,
and has been true to its teachings for more than
61 years.
The funeral services were held June 30th from
the M.E. Church in Maynard. Burial was in the
Watenpaugh plot in the Center Grove cemetery,
Maynard.
