Mrs. Louise Zittlau died July 11th, at 4:45 p.m., aged 52 years, 7 months and 10 days. Short services were held at the home Sunday afternoon. Funeral and interment occured at Independence Monday afternoon, Rev. Zeilinger officiating. The deceased was born in the Province of Posen, Germany, January 1, 1850, her maiden name being Mittelstadt. She was united in marriage to Robert Zittlau, and with him emigrated to America in 1882. They settled near Independence. April 5, 1895 her husband died. Their union had been blessed with five children. They are Mesdames Bertha Fried, Hulda Voelker, Hattie Griffron and Emily and Antonia Zittlau. She had been ill for several years, and all that skilled physicians could do for her was in vain. She fell asleep in the full faith of the christian. The sympathy of a large circle of friends is extended to the bereaved children in their loss.
