Howe, William, farmer, Section 31; PO Bethel; born in England in 1837 and came to this country when 7 years of age with his father, William Howe, and settled in Auburn, where he lived until he enlisted Aug. 15, 1862, in the 38th I.S.V., Co. A; was in battles of Vicksburg, Fort Morgan and honorably discharged and mustered out at Houston, Texas, Aug. 15, 1865. Settled on his present estate in 1870. Has a farm of seventy acres and eleven acres in Auburn.
