Mrs. Art Bringle Dies Suddenly
Wife of One of Estherville’s Prosperous and Progressive Shoe Merchants
Death came suddenly and unexpectedly to Mrs. Alma S. Bringle, wife of Art Bringle on last Tuesday [April 15, 1924] morning. A bright little baby had just been born to Mr. and Mrs. Bringle and all seemed well at the home. The doctor was about to leave the home after having been there about an hour. As he was to leave he looked at Mrs. Bringle and she was just passing away. Her heart was weak and the shock was too severe. It was a terrible shock to the family and to the community where Mr. and Mrs. Bringle have such a host of friends.

Alma S. Jeglum was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Jeglum of this city. She was born here February 16, 1894 and has resided in this city all but the nine years the family lived in Huntington. She was a graduate of the Estherville High school and she attended St. Olaf’s College for two years in 1913 and 1914. She was a possessor of a beautiful voice and she was a great church worker and always sang in the church choir. She was united in marriage to Arthur Bringle on August the 20th, 1919, and to this son there was one son born and the baby girl of Monday.

It has been our pleasure to have known Mrs. Bringle since her childhood and she possessed a wonderful personality, always kind and considerate of all, a close friend with her friends, a diligent worker in the church and Sunday school; a great home woman and mother. She is one who will be greatly missed at home and by her friends.

The funeral services will be held from the home on Friday at two o’clock and from the church at two thirty, the Rev. Berge officiating. The remains will be laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, April 16, 1924)

Mrs. A. Bringle Died Suddenly Yesterday
Wife of Prominent Young Estherville Business Man
Community is Grieved
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Jeglum – Born and Raised in Estherville, Funeral Friday
The community was saddened Thursday morning to learn of the sudden death of Mrs. A. T. Bringle at her home on north Twelfth street. About four o’clock Mrs. Bringle gave birth to a baby daughter and both were apparently in the best of condition and the attending physician was preparing to leave when he noticed Mrs. Bringle’s lips were turning blue. He immediately gave her three hypodermics, one in each arm and one directly above the heart, but death was too near and she passed away about five minutes to seven in spite of everything that was done to prolong her life. Alma Jeglum Bringle, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Jeglum, was born in this city, February 16, 1894. Her entire life has been spent in this city, with the exception of nine years of her girlhood when her parents were residents of Huntington. She attended the public schools and later took a course at the Conservatory of Music, at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minn. Mrs. Bringle was a talented musician and was ever ready to offer her services when needed. For a few years previous to her marriage she gave instructions in music in this city and with untiring patience and devotion to her work, she was a great favorite among those who were enrolled in her classes. Besides her husband and son, Raymond, three years old, and baby daughter, Mrs. Bringle is survived by her parents, two brothers, Lloyd of Chicago, and Claire, at the Iowa State College, Ames, Iowa, and three sisters, Gladys, Verda, and Dorothy of this city. The sudden passing away of Mrs. Bringle is a great shock to all who knew her. Although she had never been exceptionally strong, she had never been seriously ill and seemed to be getting along as well as could be expected following the birth of her baby. She was a charming young lady and her friends were numbered only by her acquaintances. At all times she was a true wife and a loving and devoted mother, sister and daughter. She will be greatly missed by her relatives and friends and her place can never be filled. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 from the Norwegian church and interment will be made in the Oak Hill cemetery.

Deceased was a good woman of lovely disposition, good to everyone she knew and will be greatly missed by neighbors and friends. The sympathy of the community is extended the bereaved husband, father and mother, brothers and sisters, whose heart aches are pathetic at this time. Rev. S. A. Berge, pastor of Norwegian church, will have charge of the funeral. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, April 16, 1924)

Young Mother Dies of Heart Failure on Tuesday
Mrs. Art Bringle Passes Away Shortly After Little Daughter is Born – The Baby is Strong and Will Live
Deceased Was Born in This City and Grew to Young Womanhood Here
There is no sadder death than that of a young mother, and the popularity and genuine worth of Mrs. Arthur Bringle made the news of her passing on Tuesday morning, one of the most grievous that we have been called upon to record.

Early Tuesday morning Mrs. Bringle gave birth to a fine baby girl and all was seemingly well, when her heart suddenly failed and in a very short time she had passed to the Great Beyond.

Alma S. Bringle, who is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Jeglum, was born in this city on February 16, 1894, and with the exception of nine years spent with her parents in Huntington has made this her home continuously. After attending Estherville high school she spent two years at St. Olaf College at Northfield, Minn., specializing in music.

On August 20th, 1919, she was married to Arthur Bringle.

Besides the infant daughter born to them Tuesday, there is a young son, Raymond, who will be four years old in July.

The sorrowing husband, children and parents, two brothers and three sisters are left to mourn her passing. Lloyd of Chicago, Claire now a student at Iowa State College, Ames, Gladys, Verda and Dorothy of this city.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 18th, at 2 o’clock from the home and at two thirty from the Estherville Lutheran Church, with Rev. S. A. Berge in charge. Burial will be made in Oak Hill cemetery.

The death of Mrs. Bringle is an especially hard blow for the parents as they were called upon to mourn the loss of a daughter, Mrs. Elmer Osher, less than a year ago under almost exactly the same circumstances.

Mrs. Bringle was an asset to the community, a devoted loving wife and mother, interested mainly in her home, but never too engrossed to give her energies to the work of her church and the worthwhile under takings of the city.

Hundreds of friends mourn her and extend sincere sympathy to the grief stricken family. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, April 16, 1924)
