Gale F. Craig 1930-2020

Gale F. Craig was born to Frank and Dorothy (Sabin) Craig on August 2, 1930 at a farm near Armstrong, Iowa. He passed away at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, Iowa on August 19, 2020 at the age of 90 years.

Gale graduated from Armstrong High School in 1948. He enlisted in United States Navy in 1951 and served on the US Boyd during the Korean Conflict until 1954. Gale was united in marriage to Eyvona Rae Jensen on August 29, 1953 in San Diego, California. After his honorable discharge from the Navy the couple made their home farming in the Armstrong and Ringsted areas. After Eyvona’s death in 2010 Gale moved to Armstrong.

Gale loved fishing, going to races, going to Branson each year with Marlin Paulson’s tour and not to forget his love for the Minnesota Twins (he was the assistant manager wasn’t he?)

Gale is survived by his brother, Harold (Gayle) Craig of Armstrong, brother-in-law Tom Trenary of Hampton, Minnesota; nephews, Rick (Edie) Craig, Troy Craig, Corey (Michelle) Trenary, Rick (Tamara) Schirm, and nieces, Lori (Jeff) Felkey and Tammy Dennis Trenary.

Gale is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eyvona; sister, Donna Trenary; sister-in-law, Loretta (Everett) Schirm.

Burial was at the Armstrong Grove Cemetery on Friday, August 21, 2020.
