Estherville – Services for Lena Frerichs, 86, Estherville, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Dolliver Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gerald Sevig officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Township Cemetery.

Mrs. Frerichs died Tuesday evening (June 24, 1980) at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, until 9 o’clock tonight and at the church prior to services Friday.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Zimmerman, she was born Oct. 18, 1893, at Bacul, Germany, and came to the United States in 1902, moving to Grundy County. She moved to Howard County in 1913 and was married to Conrad Frerichs on Nov. 19, 1913, at Hampton. The couple moved to Emmet County in 1918, where they farm. Mrs. Frerichs continued to live on the farm following her husband’s death in 1954 until retiring and moving to Estherville in 1967.

She was a charter member of the Dolliver Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Frerichs is survived by one daughter, Ann Frerichs, Estherville; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Alma Manlick, Renwick, and Mrs. Sophie Vandeest, Dike.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, one grandson, parents, three sisters and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June, 1980)
