Former Resident Here Dies
Mrs. William D. Lewis, 43, the former Dorothy [Leona] Gee of Estherville, died Thursday in Stockton, Calif., of cancer. She had been ill since March 14. Mrs. Lewis was born in 1941 [January 23, 1914] in Olivia, Minn., but came to Estherville with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Gee, in 1918. She was educated in Estherville schools and graduated from Estherville High School. Mrs. Lewis moved to Stockton in 1936. She is survived by her husband, one son, Eddie, 12; a sister, Mrs. Oliver Shonkwiler of Estherville, and her parents, who now life in Olivia, Minn. Funeral services will be held Monday in a Presbyterian Church at Stockton. Burial will be in Stockton. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 8, 1957)
