Rites for Kruse Held Saturday
Funeral services for Guy Kruse were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the Union Baptist church, the Rev. Eugene Olson officiating. Mr. Kruse, 66, a former resident of the Estherville area was killed about 10 a.m. Wednesday when the tractor he was driving overturned and rolled over him as he was hauling corn from a field to an elevator on a farm four miles east and one and a half miles north of Bancroft.The son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry [Ida Smith] Kruse, Guy was born July 15, 1889, and came with his parents to a farm east of Estherville. Guy Kruse was well known in the Estherville and Ringsted vicinity but had been working near Bancroft for the past 10 years.
Mr. Kruse is survived by one sister, Matta Gehlke of Estherville, and one brother, Earl, of Santa Monica, Calif. Other survivors include nieces and nephews in California, Illinois and South Dakota and Leonard, Arthur, Clifford and Kenneth Kruse and Evelyn Jensen in the Estherville area. His parents, two sisters and six brothers preceded him in death.
