Death of Larbig
A Pioneer Passes Away at the Age of Sixty-three
A Thirty Year Resident
Interment Took Place in the West Side Cemetery
M. Larbig, an aged and respected pioneer of Emmet county, passed away Sunday morning at the home of his son-in-law on the West Side, about ten o’clock, death being caused by dropsy.

The deceased was sixty-three years of age and well known to the citizens of this community. He had lived in Emmet county during the past thirty years, coming to this county from Chicago. He was employed in the occupation of farming. Several years before leaving Chicago he married Miss Eustina Zerke. From this union three children survive, Mrs. J.A. Crawford and Chris and Willie Larbig. Mrs. Larbig died about twelve years ago.

The funeral services were held Monday at the Presbyterian church, Rev. McLeod having charge. The interment took place in the west side cemetery.

Chris Larbig and son of Chicago arrived Wednesday morning to attend the funeral of Mr. Larbig’s father. They returned Saturday evening. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, August 24, 1904)
