Fort Dodge – Funeral services for Louise M. DeWall, 89, of Fort Dodge, formerly of Estherville, will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Bruce’s Funeral Home in Fort Dodge with the Reverend Allen Henderson of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville. She died on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000 at Tompkins Memorial Health Center.

Visitation was held on Monday, Jan. 10, 2000 from 4-8 p.m. at Bruce’s Funeral Home.

She was born on April 3, 1910 in Morton, Minn., the daughter of George [James] and Jane (Huisman) Eshouse.

She grew up in Estherville and graduated from Estherville High School. She attended Cedar Fall’s Teacher’s College in Cedar Falls.

In 1935 she was united in marriage to William DeWall at the home of a friend in Twelve Mile Lake Township, rural Estherville. The couple farmed in the Emmetsburg area and later moved to a farm west of Estherville where they farmed. William died in 1961 and in 1965 she moved to Fort Dodge and taught school at St. Paul Lutheran School until her retirement in 1975. She became a resident of Friendship Haven in 1981.

She is survived by two nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; one brother and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 11, 2000)
