Jackson, Minn. – Services for Henrietta (Hank) Hoovel, 92, of Jackson will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Kimball Township, Jackson County, Minn. with Pastor Mark Neumann officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Tuesday, May 3, 1994 at Jackson Municipal Nursing Home.Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-11 a.m. Friday, at Sathe Funeral Home in Jackson, and from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the church.
She was born Oct. 12, 1901 at Estherville, the daughter of William and Mary (Berink [Verink]) Case and graduated from Estherville High School in 1919. On Mar. 2, 1926 she married Johannes (Joe) M. Hoovel. They moved to Peterburg Township, Jackson County, then Christiania Twp., from 1929-1955, then to Kimball Twp. 1955-1976 then into Jackson. She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, member of Ladies Aid, had been Sunday School Superintendent and church treasurer.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Hoovel of Jackson; one sister, Maye Case of Estherville, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 5, 1994)
