William Case, 92, Longtime City Resident Dies
Lived in Estherville For 54 Years
William A. [Alonzo] Case, 92, died today about noon at the Lutheran hospital in Fort Dodge. Pneumonia and old age were given as causes of the death. He had lived in Estherville for 54 years.

Mr. Case was born February 20, 1855. On July 4, 1892 [Per Iowa Select Marriage, July 3, 1892] he was married to Mary Verink and they moved to Estherville directly after the marriage. He was a railroad man and a member of one of the railroad brotherhoods.

He was preceded in death by his wife. Survivors include nine sons and daughters, C.E. Case and Mae Case of Estherville; Mrs. Joe Hoovel of Jackson; Col. Robert Case stationed in Yokohoma, Japan, Lee Case of California; William M. Case of Grand Forks, N.D.; John H. Case of Huntington Park, Calif.; Mrs. James Knutson of Nehalem, Ore., and Fred Case of Colorado.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 21, 1946)

Mr. and Mrs. William M. Case will arrive in Estherville tonight from Fargo, N.D. They will attend funeral services tomorrow for Mr. Case’s father, William A. Case. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 23, 1946)
