Mrs. W.A. Case, Pioneer Resident, Funeral Is Today
Estherville lost another long time resident Monday when Mrs. W.A. Case passed away in the Lutheran hospital in Fort Dodge.

Mrs. Case fell at her home about a month about a month ago and sustained a fractured hip. She was taken to the Lutheran hospital at Fort Dodge where she remained until death.

Her son, Maj. Robert Case was here last week and at that time it was thought she might be on the road to recovery. Her age and physical condition were against her.

It has been our pleasure to have known Mrs. Case since boyhood. She has always been a close personal friend of the writer and a friend we have always appreciated as a wonderful mother to her family and as a real friend to all she was friendly with.

Mrs. Case was born in Muscatine on May 1, 1869. She was united in marriage to William A. Case at Iowa Falls on July 3, 1891. It was at that time they moved to this city, Mr. Case being employed by the Rock Island Railroad. To this union the following children were born: Lee of Los Angeles, Calif., Major Robert of Baton Rouge, La., Wm. M. of Ft. Collins Park, Calif., Mrs. G. C. Knudson, Nahalem, Wash., Mrs. J.A. Hoovel, Jackson, Minn., Miss Maye Case and Ed of Estherville and Fred of Denver, Colo.

The funeral services were held today from the Union Baptist church, the Rev. J.A. Riggs officiating. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, August 31, 1939)
