Mrs. Jack Miller of Armstrong Dies Suddenly; Funeral Services to Be Held Sunday
The sudden death of Mrs. Jack Miller, 37, of Armstrong at the Coleman hospital early this morning was a complete shock to her family and many friends. Mrs. Miller gave birth to a son born about 9 o’clock last evening at the hospital and passed away about 3 o’clock this morning from a hemorrhage.

Funeral rites will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Presbyterian church in Armstrong. Burial will be in the Armstrong cemetery.

Mrs. Miller was born and raised in Armstrong, the daughter of Mrs. John Laffey. She is survived by her husband, three children, Donna Marie, 15, Robert Duane 10 months and David Lee infant; her parents; three brothers, Joe, Floyd and Linus Laffey, all of Armstrong and four sisters, Mrs. Art Schultz of Garner, Mrs. Nute Lorig of Truman and Miss Florine Laffey and Mrs. John Pritchard of Britt. Mrs. Jack Miller of Armstrong, nee Gladys Laffey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Laffey, passed away very suddenly last Thursday according to word received by relatives here. This community was saddened to learn of her early passing being only 37 years of age at the time of her death which followed the birth of a son. Mr. Jim Miller of this vicinity is a brother of Jack Miller and Lee Miller a cousin. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, December 8, 1936)

Dolliver & Vicinity –The community was shocked last Thursday when news was received of the death of Mrs. Jack Miller of Armstrong. Gladys, as she was well known here, was born on a farm three miles east of Dolliver and lived there several years. We sympathize with the bereaved family.
