John Miller
John Miller, 78, died Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ellen May, 302 Allen street, of complications incident to advanced age.

A retired farmer, he had lived at McIntire, Ia. until three weeks ago, when he moved to Waterloo.

Born Oct. 3, 1868, at Albany, Ill., he was the son of Andrew and Fanny Miller.

He married Jennie M. Nau Apr. 26, 1910 at Dolliver, Ia. He had been married previously.

He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and of the Methodist church.

Survivors include four sons, Robert, Rochester, N.Y.; McKinley, Oswego, N.Y.; LeRoy, Fulton, N.Y, and Marvin, Dolliver; one step-son, Melvin Hunt, Dolliver; two daughters, Mrs. May and Mrs. Gladys Martin, Camden, N.Y.; two brothers, Matt, Waverly, Ia., and Frank, Dougherty, Ia.; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The body was taken to Kearns Garden chapel. (Waterloo Daily Courier, Waterloo, IA, May 13, 1947)

Funeral services for John Miller, who died Tuesday morning in the home of his daughter, 302 Allen stret, will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Kearns Garden chapel, with Rev. A.L. Drake, pastor of First Baptist church, officiating. Further services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Community church at Oliver [Dolliver], Ia., with burial in Armstrong cemetery. John Miller, 78, Former Resident Here, Is Dead
Word was received yesterday by Mrs. Bess Peterson of the death of John Miller, 78, a former resident of the Dolliver vicinity. He died yesterday noon in Waterloo at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert May.

Burial will be Friday with services being held Friday afternoon at the Dolliver Methodist church.

Miller is survived locally by a son Marvin Miller and a step son, Melvin Hunt, both of Dolliver.

Also surviving are his wife of Waterloo; three sons, Robert, LeRoy and McKinely, all of New York and two daughters, Mrs. May of Waterloo and Mrs. Martin of New York.

All relatives are planning to attend funeral services Friday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 14, 1947)

Funeral services for John Miller, former resident of the Dolliver vicinity will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Dolliver Methodist church. Mr. Miller died Tuesday [May 13, 1947] at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert May, at Waterloo. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 15, 1947)

Funeral services for John Miller, age 78, were held at the Dolliver Methodist Church on Friday [May 16, 1947] afternoon with burial in the Armstrong cemetery. Mr. Miller farmed in the Dolliver vicinity for several years and since has lived at McIntire until three weeks ago when he moved to Waterloo to the home of his daughter Mrs. Robert May where he passed away. Surviving are his widow, four sons, Robert of Rochester, New York; McKinley of Oswego, New York, Leroy of Fulton, New York and Marvin of Dolliver; one stepson, Melvin Hunt of Dolliver, two daughters, Mrs. Robert May of Waterloo and Mrs. Gladys Martin of Camden, New York.
