Funeral for Mrs. Mein To Be Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. Henry (Gepke) Mein, 75, of Maple Hill who died Tuesday [August 13, 1968] at about 8 p.m. of a heart attack suffered at her home, are to be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Armstrong, Rev. Travis Cannady officiating. A family service at 1:30 p.m. will precede the church service. Burial will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons of Mrs. Mein, Roy, Larry, Luverne and Lyle Mein, Marvin and Martin Boomgarden.

Visitation will be at the Slaba-Reese Funeral Home in Armstrong.

The former Gepke Bunk was born Dec. 7, 1892, at Groningen, The Netherlands, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abbo Bunk. She received her education in Holland.

She came to the United States in March of 1914 and a few days later was married to Henry Mein at Kanawha. Mr. and Mrs. Mein farmed at Kanawha until 1936 when they moved to a farm in the Armstrong area. Mr. Mein died about 10 years ago. Since his death, Mrs. Mein has lived with a daughter and three sons near Maple Hill.

Mrs. Mein is survived by three daughters, Ella Mein of Maple Hill, Mrs. Stuart (Dora) Anderson of Estherville; Mrs. Raymond (Tillie) Gustafson of Ledyard; five sons, Gerald, George and Dick, all of Maple Hill, Abbo of Swea City, and Lucas of Estherville; 28 grandchildren; two brothers, Lucas Bunk of Renwick and Dick bunk of Kanawha; and three sisters, Mrs. Gertie Abbas of Ackley, Mrs. Lizzie Abbas of Aplington, and Mrs. Minnie Verbrugge of Armstrong.
