Arthur James Luscombe, the son of James and Katherine (Ernst) Luscombe, was born January 9, 1922, in Dolliver, Iowa. He passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 86 years.

On August 2, 1942, Arthur was united in marriage to Elvina Herbranson in Worthington, Minnesota. Following their marriage the couple moved to a farm north of Armstrong, Iowa. They owned and operated a grocery store in Ceylon, Minnesota for two years and then returned to farming. The couple then moved to Grantsburg, Wisconsin, where they operated movie theater's. Later they returned to Ceylon for several years in the grocery business. They then returned to the Luscombe family farm and made that their permanent home. Arthur and Elvina owned and operated Art's Way Manufacturing in Armstrong. Arthur, the inventor and entrepreneur was instrumental in the creation and success of Artsway, Weigh-Tronix and Rim & Wheel. He and Elvina enjoyed wintering in Las Vegas, fishing and helping with fieldwork spring and fall. Elvina died October 16, 2003.

Arthur is survived by two sons, Terry Luscombe and his wife, Donna of Armstrong; Gene Luscombe and his wife, Carmen of Sherman, Texas; his grandchildren, Tammy Luscombe of Dolliver; Amy White and her husband Jeff of Pottsboro, Texas; Dena Newell and her husband Tim of Aledo, Texas; Jason Godfredsen and his wife, Darlene of Sherman, Texas; Marne Brand and her husband Jackie of Sherman, Texas; eight great-grandchildren; Ashley Welch, Halle and Max Newell, Alana, Ella, & Ava Godfredsen, Landen and Kaylee Brand; and sister, Mary Carr Grove City, Minnesota.

Preceding Arthur in death were his wife Elvina; his parents James and Katherine Ernst Luscombe; brother, Randal Luscombe of Blackwater, Missouri; one great-granddaughter; and one nephew.

Interment: Armstrong Grove Cemetery, Armstrong, IA (MC)
