Dolliver – Services for Mrs. Katherine [Catherine] E. [Eva] Luscombe, 103, former Dolliver-Ceylon area resident, will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong with the Rev. Don Sarff officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery. She died Monday, July 8, 1985 at the Emmanuel Nursing Home at Litchfield, Minn.

Henry and Olson Funeral Home of Armstrong is in charge of arrangements.

Katherine E. Ernst was born March 23, 1882 at Circleville, Jackson County, Kansas and was the daughter of George W. and Mary Sabina (Ruff) Ernst. She attended rural schools. On June 18, 1913 she was united in marriage with James Luscombe at Holton, Kans. where they farmed; they moved to the Dolliver area and farmed until retiring and moving into Ceylon in 1947. After her husband’s death in 1971 she moved to Grove City, Minn. and lived with her daughter. In 1983 at the age of 101 she entered the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield where she lived until her death.

Survivors include two sons: Arthur Luscombe, Dolliver, Randall Luscombe, Blackwater, Mo.; one daughter Mary Carr, Grove City, Minn.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters Mrs. Clara Gray, Hiawatha, Kans. and Mrs. Mary Fairbanks, Topeka, Kans.

She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 10, 1985)
