James Luscombe Dies; Services Set Tuesday
James Rollo Luscombe, 85, Ceylon, died at 11 a.m. Saturday [February 27, 1971] morning at Holy Family Hospital. He had been ill since Jan. 9.

He was born March 5, 1885, in Grundy County, to Mr. and Mrs. William Luscombe. He was married on June 13, 1913, to Catherine Ernst at Holton, Kan. They lived in the Dolliver area all of their married life until 1947, when they retired to Ceylon.

He is survived by his wife Catherine, Ceylon; two sons, Randal, Black Water, Mo.; and Arthur, Dolliver; one daughter, eleven great-grandchildren, and one brother, John, of Fairmont, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and one brother.

The casket will be taken to the Luscombe home in Ceylon on Tuesday morning and family services will be held at the home at 12:30 p.m. Public services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Nazareth Lutheran Church at Armstrong. The Rev. Donohue Sarff will officiate. Burial will be in the Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home at Armstrong anytime Monday until 9 a.m. Tuesday when the casket will be taken to the home in Ceylon. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 1, 1971)
