Armstrong – Peter Albert Looft, 84, Armstrong, died Sunday morning, April 24, 1977, at Valley Vue Nursing Home, Armstrong.

Services for Mr. Looft will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Presbyterian Church, Armstrong, with the Rev. Shreve officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Armstrong, after 9 a.m. Tuesday, until noon Wednesday, when the body will be taken to the church.

Mr. Looft was born April 16, 1893, at Gerled, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter J. Looft. He received his education in rural Kossuth County schools and was married to Edna Godfredsen Jan. 20, 1921, at Burt.

The couple farmed for many years in the Armstrong and Swea City area and were later employed at the Armstrong funeral home. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Looft is survived by his wife, Edna; three sons, Verle Looft, Spirit Lake, Kenneth Looft, Hinckley, Minn., and Donald Looft, Armstrong; two daughters, Mrs. Harriett VonBank, Sherburn, Minn, and Lavon VonBank, Blue Earth, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Looft, Fairmont, Minn., and Harry Looft, Swea City; and four sisters, Mrs. Anna Reimers, Burt, Amanda Looft, Fort Dodge, Minna [Mina] Looft, Fort Dodge, and Mrs. Ruth Munson, Litchfield, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, three brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 25, 1977)
