Rites For Mrs. Anna Loomer At Armstrong
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Slaba mortuary in Armstrong for Mrs. Anna Loomer, longtime resident there, who died Tuesday, March 22 at the state hospital, Cherokee, where she was taken a couple of years ago following a general breakdown in health.Burial was made in the Armstrong Grove cemetery, and the Rev. Russell Nelson had charge of the services.
Mrs. Loomer was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Ziemer, and was born May 22, 1870 in Fenton township. November 25, 1898 she was married to Arthur Loomer, who died 14 years ago.
One child, a son, was born and survives his parents. He lives at Decatur, Ill., and because of a recent auto accident was unable to attend the funeral.
Other close relatives who survive are two sisters, Mrs. George Mahoney, Algona, and Mrs. Alvena Domeck, Fairmont; also a brother, William Ziemer, Minneapolis, who was unable to attend the final rites.
The deceased, in addition to being a member of the Presbyterian church, was a member of the Easter Stars.
Pall-bearers were T.O. Hovick, Andrew Opsal, N.E. Looft, C.N. Peterson, F.A. Musson, and Anthony Shaw. (Kossuth County Advance, Algona, IA, March 28, 1949)
